What is PPS or CIDB ?
CIDB-Certificate of Standards Compliance OR Pematuhan Standard (PPS) Bagi Bahan Binaan Tempatan. Building materials that are regulated by CIDB are as listed in the Fourth Schedule of Act 520 are required to be certified by obtaining a valid Standard Compliance Certificate (PPS).
The certificate of conformity confirms that the production of the scaffolding system has been checked and is carried out satisfactorily.
How to set up a scaffolding?
Here’s the steps:
- Assemble the base: Setting up the base plates and adjustable feet to create a stable foundation for the scaffolding.
- Erect the scaffolding: Build the scaffolding frame by connecting the vertical and horizontal tubes. Make sure all components are securely fastened.
- Add guardrails and toe boards: Install guardrails and toe boards for added safety to prevent falls.
- Secure the platform: Place the platform planks on the scaffolding frame and secure them in place. Make sure they are stable and can support the weight of workers and materials.
- Inspect and test: Before using the scaffolding, inspect it thoroughly to ensure it is set up correctly and is safe to use.
